Extra Credit Opportunity! Be the 1st to pen & post a review (1 concise pg. with photos please) of Victoria Goro-Rapaport's exhibition @ The Old Town Gallery in Tustin. The exhibition of her epic etchings runs until April 4th, & the gallery hours are: Thurs. - Sat., 12 - 5 PM. Her work features exceptional detail & dense layering that borrows heavily from collage elements.
To the left, a printed image & poem by the late, great, English visionary - William Blake. On the bottom is Maddie Dierkes' 2009 additive monotype - a close-up of the "fearful" beast. In Blake's words: "What immortal hand or eye/Could frame thy fearful symmetry?"
Sorry that this image has a big fold right in the center, but you can still clearly see Printmaking graduate student Camilla Taylor accepting a check from Masha Schweitzer for the LAPS (Los Angeles Printmaking Society) Foundation Scholarship Award. Also included in the photograph are renown printmaker Donna Westerman & Josephine Press Founder/Owner John Greco. Congrats to Camilla for her visually stunning work! FYI: She'll be coming to Art 370 this term to do a demo on silkscreen monotype.
