Ruminations on printmaking, prints & drawings from the left coast

I am quite pleased to announce that Tyler Ferreira is the 2010 winner of the Frogman's Graduate Student Scholarship at the University of South Dakota in beautiful Vermillion. In addition to receiving free tuition at a workshop, Tyler will also have a solo exhibition of his prints on display at the Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts on the campus of the University of South Dakota. A bit of alright!
Ya'el Pedroza (seen pre-Hazel in this photo with Tyler) is part of a group exhibition called: "The OsCene 2010 - Contemporary Art & Culture in OC" at the Laguna Museum of Art. The 2/20 opening features DJ Velvet Touch (I'm so un-hip...I've never heard of him or her) & tickets are $20.00 pre-sale/$25.00 @ the door.
2/21 features a curatorial walk-through, which I think may be free?
Call 949/494-8971 to find out for certain. The address is: 307 Cliff Drive, Laguna Beach, & the web-site of the Museum is: www.LagunaArtMuseum.org
The Merced County Arts Council is now accepting slides for its 4th Annual California Centered: Printmaking Exhibit. The intention is to bring together a selection of the best in recent California printmaking. Merced, home of the newest University of California campus, is located in the geographic center of the state. This is the fourth in a series of annual exhibitions sponsored by the Merced County Arts Council. The exhibition will be held in the Merced Art Center, an award winning center with several dedicated exhibition galleries.
